Anyone who is in touch with their sexuality should visit this site. It is my new favourite friend: http://www.scarleteen.com/

First person to buy me a thong or shirt with the female sexual anatomy on it wins. Those of you who care to keep in mind that I shall be going to a Catholic school near Revere next year might instead purchase for me this shirt.

--

Woah! Woah! This is too awesome.

It's like someone looked deep into my soul and saw my love of vaginas and my currently-fraying kick-ass messenger bag.

I was going to buy a flat of books today. Instead, I am shoveling the driveway every hour and half.

I was also going to get a cavity filled.

Oh snow. I can't stay mad at you.

NCTE

So, I'm in the running for the National Council of Teachers of English's Achievement Award.

Pardon me while I defecate ALL OVER MYSELF.

I'm one of the two people in my school who are being asked to write for this. And, no, after speaking to three English teachers and my guidence councilor, I'm not totally sure what it is, other than a huge honour. Everyone assures me it's a big deal with isn't helping my normal panic.

I'll have to submit my best piece of creative writing (I'm in a tizzy because everything I write BLOWS, and they will laugh at my submission), and and write a supervised essay in a two-hour period.

SOME TIME IN APRIL.

Why, God, why did they tell me now? I'll be giggling to myself and resting on my laurels in Romantisism (this class scares the bejesus out of me, by the way. I don't recall reading anything about art and music when I signed up. I'm so sure I am going to do poorly), and crapping myself editing until April rolls around.

Poor self-esteem? Me?

As it happens, though, the other girl is the vice-president of the GSA. Which is fun, because at least it's not someone I hate, or someone I know to be six million times better than me (not to disparage Michela's skill: I don't know her writing).

Oh, but I got to do some editing of a DeadJournal page, and everyone seemed to like what I wrote for it. I love this be fine. I shall be fine. (And, oh goodness, I typed "will" and freaked out at the gramatical incorrectness of that.)
(But let "incorrectness" stand.)

Great God I love Howard Shore. And Peter Jackson. Wow. I'm so glad for him. And Dominic and Elijah and Cate for getting misty-eyed. And Philippa, and Fran, and Barrie, and Mark, and Rick, and everyone involved in any way with this movie-- from Peter to Elijah, and Vig to Andy, and Sala and Paul to Kirin, the Peters, and the MoCap folk, the unthanked anaimaters, and, goodness, Uruks #3 and #4-- from winners raking in millions to the boy holding fruit platters.

Ten Questions

These are Bernard Pivot's famous ten questions. I think they are a fair bit more interesting and telling than the tipical survey, so I'm posting without a cut. I would be interested in seeing your answers.

01. What is your favorite word?
"Pathos."
02. What is your least favorite word?
"Moist."
03. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Anything unconventionaly beautiful. Tiny details. A pleasing laugh, the silence after a broken glass, a quiet cigarette on a hectic morning.
04. What turns you off?
People expressing disapointment in me.
05. What is your favorite curse word?
"Fuck." It's so multi-purpose.
06. What sound or noise do you love?
You know those substription rewenal cards in magazines? I love the sound they make when you fold them very slowly along the perferation. You have to be very quiet, but it's so nice, becuase it's one of those tiny things that people don't pay enough attention to.
07. What sound or noise do you hate?
The screech of tires follwed by the crunch of metal against metal.
08. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I'm jobless, but I want so badly to be a teacher. Failing that, I harbour this horrible need to be seen and follwed and appreciated; to somehow impact another's life. An author, or actor or something like that.
09. What profession would you not like to do?
Cashier. Horrible. Money makes me panic, and I can;t help but think of the entirely alarming percentage of paper money that is contaiminated with fecal matter...
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
"It's okay now."
